We all seek that effortless flowing sensation which feels as if we are 'being played'.

Susan's courses and sessions in practising-in-flow explore how we experience, learn and teach efficient ways to enable the body to make sound and music.

In teaching and coaching the princilpes of 'flow' Susan draws from techniques based on the research by Hungarian Psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, which were first adapted for musicians by psychologist and violinist Andreas Burzik.

Themes/topics include:

  • improving efficiency
  • dealing with stage fright
  • allowing optimal performance
  • preventing injury
  • understanding how the body learns

Practising-in-flow is a course which is offered at the Royal Conservatorium of Music in The Hague.

Private sessions can be booked by request. For information contact Susan Williams.
